Your first week with VIVID

One conversation.
One focus.
A place to begin.

Use these seven steps at a pace that fits your work. Start with one moment you want to understand better, then turn it into a repeatable practice.

A free planning companion. Use it with the free examples or your course. Open your account for purchased lessons and resources.

Use anonymous examples. Your writing stays in this browser and is not sent with analytics.

STEP 1Choose one moment

Choose your practice focus above. Describe a recent conversation you would like to understand better. Use the other person's words, then separate what you observed from what you assumed.

STEP 2Read with a purpose

Open the ebook or your course. Find the section connected to your chosen focus. Write one idea you can try in a conversation. Your purchase email contains your resource links.

STEP 3Rehearse your next question

Write the question in your own words and say it aloud. Try the free practice example if you want a situation to work with. Aim for a question you would comfortably use.

STEP 4Try it in context

Use the question when a relevant moment occurs. If you do not have a live conversation, rehearse with a colleague or use an example. Give the other person room to answer.

STEP 5Review without guessing

Record what you said and what they said next. Notice what became clearer. Avoid attributing an entire outcome to one question.

STEP 6Adjust one thing

Choose one change in wording, timing, or pace. Practice it again in a relevant situation. Keep the parts that helped you understand the other person.

STEP 7Choose your next practice

Review your notes. Name one habit to keep and one thing to work on next. Continue with the relevant lesson or exercise in your product. Repeat this plan at a pace that fits your work.

After the seventh step

Keep what helped. Choose what comes next.

Use your final reflection to choose the next exercise in your course. Another week on the same focus can be useful. Return to your notes when you want to compare what you tried and what became clearer.
